In the heart of our club there exists a group of remarkable individuals who have become the backbone of our organisation — fondly known as 'The Golden Boys'. Recognised across the club for their unwavering loyalty, these dedicated volunteers have played an integral role in our success and upkeep.
Twice a week, like clockwork, the Golden Boys assemble to help maintain the grounds — tidying up after weekend fixtures, painting, fixing, and undertaking countless tasks around the facility. Rain or shine, they are there, working tirelessly all year round.
This extraordinary group has been an inseparable part of our journey since the humble non-league days. Through thick and thin they have contributed their time, effort and expertise to help elevate the club. At the forefront is Geoff Butler, who has dedicated over 60 years of his life to the club — an inspiration to all and the embodiment of the true spirit of volunteerism.
Their efforts go beyond the visible impact on the grounds; they contribute to the very soul of our club. To recognise and celebrate their contribution, we are proud to award them our EFL Community Hero Awards.
